Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota, United States) is an American musician, poet and artist whose position in popular culture is unique.
Dylan started his musical odyssey in 1959 when he began playing in Dinkytown, Minneapolis while attending the University of Minnesota. Shortly after starting to play he changed his stage name to Bob Dylan, after being influenced by the poetry of Dylan Thomas before legally changing his name in 1962.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
Title: My Back Pages Artist: Bob Dylan Album: Another Side of Bob Dylan
The chords vary from verse to verse and are never the same on the refrain ("Ah but I was so much older..."). If you are intent on learning the song as it is on the album, the following notes might help:
Verse 1 is very different from the rest. You just gotta learn it. Verses 2, 3, 4, and 6 are identical. Verse 5 is similar to the other verses except the last part. The refrains have different variations each time.
However, if youre not so picky about every detail, I recomend just learning the chords to the last verse and refrain and using that pattern throughout.
Also, Dylan uses this little thing most of the G chords:
CAmEm Crimson flames tied through my ears FGC Rollin' high and mighty traps CAmEmC Pounced with fire on flaming roads FEmG Using ideas as my maps FAmGC "We'll meet on edges, soon," said I AmFG Proud 'neath heated brow. CAmC Ah, but I was so much older then, FGC I'm younger than that now.
[Instrumental]

[Verse 2]
CAmEm Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth FGC "Rip down all hate," I screamed CAmEm Lies that life is black and white FG Spoke from my skull. I dreamed AmEm Romantic facts of musketeers FG Foundationed deep, somehow. CAmEmF Ah, but I was so much older then, GC I'm younger than that now.
[Verse 3]
CAmEm Girls' faces formed the forward path FGC From phony jealousy CAmEm To memorizing politics FG Of ancient history AmEm Flung down by corpse evangelists FG Unthought of, though, somehow. CFC Ah, but I was so much older then, FGC I'm younger than that now.
[Verse 4]
CAmEm A self-ordained professor's tongue FGC Too serious to fool CAmEm Spouted out that liberty FG Is just equality in school AmEm "Equality," I spoke the word FG As if a wedding vow. CAm Ah, but I was so much older then, FGC I'm younger than that now.
[Verse 5]
CAmEm In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand FGC At the mongrel dogs who teach CAmEm Fearing not that I'd become my enemy FG In the instant that I preach AmFC My existence led by confusion boats AmEmG Mutiny from stern to bow. CAmFC Ah, but I was so much older then, GC I'm younger than that now.
[Verse 6]
CAmEm Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats FGC Too noble to neglect CAmEm Deceived me into thinking FG I had something to protect AmEm Good and bad, I define these terms FG Quite clear, no doubt, somehow. CAmFC Ah, but I was so much older then, GC I'm younger than that now.
