C I saw the light fade from the sky On the wind I heard a sigh AmFAmF As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers CFC I will say this last goodbye
[Bridge]
AmF Night is now falling CG So ends this day AmF The road is now calling CG And I must away AmF Over hill and under tree DmF Through lands where never light has shone CFG By silver streams that run down to the Sea
[Chorus 1]
AmF Under cloud, beneath the stars DmF Over snow one winter’s morn CFGDm I turn at last to paths that lead home FAm And though where the road then takes me GDm I cannot tell F We came all this way Am But now comes the day G To bid you farewell
[Verse 2]
CFC Many places I have been CFC Many sorrows I have seen AmF But I don’t regret AmF Nor will I forget CFC All [who took the road with me]
[Bridge]
AmF Night is now falling CG So ends this day AmF The road is now calling CG And I must away AmF Over hill and under tree DmF Through lands where never light has shone CFG By silver streams that run down to the Sea
[Chorus 2]
AmF To these memories I will hold DmF With your blessing I will go CFG To turn at last to paths that lead home DmFAm And though where the road then takes me G I cannot tell DmF We came all this way Am But now comes the day G To bid you farewell
