A I saw the light fade from the sky
On the wind I heard a sigh F#mDF#mD As the snowflakes covered my fallen brothers ADA I will say this last goodbye
F#mD Night is now falling AE So ends this day F#mD The road is now calling AE And I must away F#mD Over hill and under tree BmD Through lands where never light is shined A By silver streams DE That run down to the sea
F#mD Under cloud, beneath the stars BmD Over snow and winters moor ADEBm I turn it last to paths that lead home DF#m And though where the road then takes me EBmD I cannot tell, we came all this way F#m But now comes the day E To bid you farewell
ADA Many places I have been ADA Many sorrows I have seen F#mD But I don't regret F#mD Nor will I forget ADA All that took that road with me
F#mD Night is now falling AE So ends this day F#mD The road is now calling AE And I must away F#mD Over hill and under tree BmD Through lands where never light is shined A By silver streams DE That rounds down to the sea
F#mD Towards these memories I will hold BmD With your blessing I will go ADEBm To turn at last to paths that lead home
DF#m And though where the road then takes me EBmD I cannot tell, we came all this way F#m But now comes the day E To bid you farewell
