Ben Howard (born 24 April 1987) is an English singer-songwriter, born in London. He moved to Totnes, Devon, in his teens. Howard's musically-inclined parents exposed him at a young age to their favourite records from singer-songwriter artists such as Bob Dylan, Nina Simone and John Martyn. Howard began writing his own songs and after a short spell studying journalism, he decided in 2009 at the age of 21 to become a full-time musician.

Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
[Verse 1] C Hot sand on toes, cold sand in sleeping bags, Am I've come to know that memories G Were the best things you ever had C The summer shone beat down on bony backs Am So far from home where the ocean stood GCAmG Down dust and pine cone tracks C We slept like dogs down by the fire side Am Awoke to the fog all around us GCAmG The boom of summer time
[Chorus] C We stood Em Steady as the stars in the woods C So happy-hearted Em And the warmth rang true inside these bones AmG As the old pine fell we sang CAmG Just to bless the morning.
[Verse 2] C Hot sand on toes, cold sand in sleeping bags, Am I've come to know the friends around you G Are all you'll always have C Smoke in my lungs, or the echoed stone AmG Careless and young, free as the birds that fly CAmG With weightless souls now.
[Chorus] C We stood Em Steady as the stars in the woods C So happy-hearted Em And the warmth rang true inside these bones [x2] AmG As the old pine fell we sang CAmG Just to bless the morning.
[Instrumental] CAmG
[Outro] C We grow, grow, steady as the morning AmG We grow, grow, older still C We grow, grow, happy as a new dawn AmG We grow, grow, older still C We grow, grow, steady as the flowers AmG We grow, grow, older still C We grow, grow, happy as a new dawn AmG We grow, grow, older still
