Amy Jade Winehouse (born 14 September 1983 in Southgate, London, died 23 July 2011 in Camden, London) was an English singer and composer, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including soul, jazz, rock 'n' roll and Rhythm and Blues.
Her musical formation went through listening to such jazz legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Sarah Vaughan; she was later influenced by contemporary metropolitan popular music as well. She represented a union of these aesthetics: a happy fusion of '40s jazz

D6G#m7b5 All I can ever be to you, is a darkness that we knew, Gmaj7F#m7Em9D/F#GE/G# And this regret I got ac-customed to.
D6G#m7b5 Once it was so right, when we were at our high, Gmaj7F#m7Em9D/F#GE/G# Waiting for you in the ho-tel at night.
[Verse 2]
D6G#m7b5 I knew I hadn't met my match, but every moment we could snatch. Gmaj7F#m7Em9D/F#GE/G# I don't know why I got so attached.
D6G#m7b5 It's my responsibility, and you don't owe nothing to me, Gmaj7F#m7Em9F#m7 But to walk away; I have no ca-pacity.
[Chorus 1]
GEmF#mBm He walks a-way; the sun goes down. GEmF#mBm He takes the day, but I'm grown. GEmF#mBm And in your grey, in this blue shade, E7F#mG My tears dry on their own.
[Verse 3]
D6G#m7b5 I don't understand; why do I stress a man, Gmaj7F#m7Em9D/F#GE/G# When there's so many better things at hand?
D6G#m7b5 We could a never had it all; we had to hit a wall, Gmaj7F#m7Em9D/F#GE/G# So this is in-evita-ble withdrawal.
[Verse 4]
D6G#m7b5 Even if I stop wanting you, a per-spective pushes through, Gmaj7F#m7Em9D/F#GE/G# I'll be some next man's other woman soon.
D6G#m7b5 I can't play myself again, I should just be my own best friend, Gmaj7F#m7Em9F#m7 Not fuck myself in the head with stupid men.
[Chorus 2]
GEmF#mBm He walks a-way; the sun goes down. GEmF#mBm He takes the day, but I'm grown. GEmF#mBm And in your grey, in this blue shade, E7F#mG My tears dry on their own.
