Amy Grant: Cry A River
Written by Amy Grant & Wayne Kirkpatrick Album: Behind The Eyes Transcribed by Rok Osojnik
This is the saddest, but in my opinion the most beautiful song on the album.
THIS SONG IS CAPOED AT 2ND FRET. All chords are named as if the capo was the nut. Sign ! means strum upwards.
Verse: GDDsus4CC* Cadd9 Who knew love would come walkin' through my door CCDG Turn the light on somewhere down inside
GDDsus4CC* Cadd9 Give me a feeling I'd never had before C It was a long wait CDG it was just the wrong time
Bridge: !EmC But I hope you'll hold me now EmC2 somewhere within !EmC And when you think about CCD what might have been
Chorus: GCadd9 Cry a river GCadd9 Flood the sea GDC2G Cry a river over me GCadd9 Take the bitter GCadd9 With the sweet GDC2G And cry a river over me
(Repeat intro)
Verse: GDDsus4CC* Cadd9 And how do you argue with a feeling in your bones CCDG 'bout what is and what isn't meant to be GD Some things you live with CC* Cadd9 And you never let it show C Like the pain I felt CDG The day I watched you leave
Bridge: !EmC But I hope you'll think of me EmC2 When tender winds blow !EmC Sit on the shores of love CCD And just let it go
