Against the Current are a pop-punk band that formed in Poughkeepsie, New York in 2011. Led by singer Chrissy Costanza, guitarist/singer Dan Gow, and drummer Will Ferri, they initially built up a large following on YouTube covering songs like Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen's "Good Time" and Kelly Clarkson's "Catch My Breath." Their own debut single, "Thinking," arrived in July 2012, followed a year later by "Closer, Faster," the latter of which also appeared on their debut EP Infinity in 2014.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
This is an amazing and emotional new song off of Against the Current's début record 'In Our Bones'.
I love this song and it's really easy to play! The bass and rhythm guitar are really just playing root notes and power chords which allows for you to add some flavour to into in the transition between chords if you want!
I play this in Drop D but can be easily played in standard.
The one trick to 100% nailing this song is to get that the lyrics in the verse come in on the "3" in the A chord which means when you're done with the chorus at F#m you should start playing the A right then.
Thanks to zevaz815 for the improvment upon the lead!
