Ab The light was leaving and the west it was blue
Db The children's laughter sang
Ab And skipping just like the stones they threw
Db Their voices echoed across the way
Eb It's getting late
AbGbDb It was just another night
Eb With a sunset
AbGbDb And a moonrise not so far behind
Eb To give us just enough light
AbGbDb To lay down underneath the stars
Eb Listen to papa's translations
AbGbDb Of the stories across the sky
Eb We drew our own constellations
Ab The west winds often last too long
Db The wind may calm down nothing ever feels the same
Ab Sheltered under the Kamani tree
Db Waiting for the passing rain
Ab Clouds keep moving to uncover the scene
Db Stars above us chasing the day away
Ab To find the stories that we sometimes need
Db Listen close enough
Eb All else fades, fades away
AbGbDb It was just another night
Eb With a sunset
AbGbDb And a moonrise not so far behind
Eb To give us just enough light
AbGbDb To lay down underneath the stars
Eb Listen to papa's translations
AbGbDb Of the stories across the sky
