Roy Kelton Orbison (April 23, 1936 – December 6, 1988), nicknamed "The Big O", was an influential American singer-songwriter and a pioneer of rock and roll, whose recording career spanned more than four decades. By the mid-1960s Orbison was internationally recognized for his ballads of lost love, rhythmically advanced melodies, three-octave vocal range, characteristic dark sunglasses, and sometimes distinctive usage of falsetto, typified in songs such as "Only the Lonely, "Oh, Pretty Woman", and "Crying".

DG She come from Kansas City, lookin' mighty pretty D She's as sweet as Kansas City wine G Oh, it's such a pity, she won't wanna kiss me D She won't hang her love out on the line GD No, she won't hang her love out on the line
G A mystery to me, she's not what you see A She's a strong, mighty woman who loves to disagree DG If I could just talk to her, I know that I could fool her D But she won't hang her love out on the line
She don't care for nothin' she holds onto her lovin' I wonder if she'd ever change her mind? I'll fall in behind her, hopin' that I find her When she hangs her love out on the line When she hangs her love out on the line
A mystery to me...
I'd take her lovin', I'd take her lovin' I'd take her lovin' anytime I want her lovin', I need her lovin' but she won't hang her love out on the line No,she won't hang her love out on the line she won't hang her love out on the line
