Roxette was a Swedish pop rock duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson (vocals and keyboards; died 9 December 2019) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Formed in 1986, the duo became an international act in the late 1980s, when they released their breakthrough album Look Sharp! Their third album Joyride, which was released in 1991, became just as successful as its predecessor. Roxette went on to achieve nineteen UK Top 40 hits and several US Hot 100 hits

{comment: Intro} [D] [Bm] [G] [A]
{comment: Verse 1} In the coldest time of [D]year, darkness all around my [Bm]heart. I was alone but didn't [D]fear to wander in the [Bm]light of stars. [G] In the bright and silent [D]night, winds would knock and disa[Bm]ppear. Still I felt the feeling [F#m]near, like the first time you were [G]ever here. [A]
{Comment: Chorus 1} You're [D]so far away, [D]so far away, [A] you left me, you told me you would [Bm]stay. You never said good[G]bye and [Gm]I'll keep asking [D]why, I keep on asking [A]how, oh come unto me [Bm]now. [A]
{comment: Verse 2} I have breathed the morning [D]air, I have heard the four winds [Bm]blow. I was weary but pre[D]pared to follow down this [Bm]lonely road. [G] In the room were lovers [D]sleep, winds would knock and disap[Bm]pear. Still I felt the music [F#m]near, like the first time we were [G]ever here. [A]
{Comment: Chorus 2} You're [D]so far away, [D]so far away, [A] you left me, you told me you would [Bm]stay. You never said good[G]bye and [Gm]I keep wondering [D]why, I keep on wondering [A]how, oh come inside me [Bm]now. I keep on wondering [A]how, oh come inside me [F#m]now. [G] [A]
