1) Sixto Diaz Rodriguez (also known as Rodriguez or as Jesus Rodriguez) is an American folk musician, born in Detroit, Michigan on July 10, 1942. He was named 'Sixto' (pronounced seex-toe) because he was the sixth child in his family. Rodriguez's parents were middle-class immigrants from Mexico, who left in the 1920s. In most of his songs he takes a political stance on the cruelties facing the inner city poor.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crucify Your Mind - Sixto Rodriguez ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Christian E-mail: [email protected]
Great song. I found a better way to play this than the tabs that were already on UG, and thought I'd share it with you guys. I believe, that with this tab you can play very close to the original song, without being a guitar god in any way.
Listen to the song and figure out the strumming pattern, it's real easy. I didn't know what the sus-variations of the Amaj7 and F#m chords are called, so I just named them "Amaj7" and "F#m". See the diagram below.
[Intro] A-Asus4-A, Amaj7-"Amaj7"-Amaj7, F#m-"F#m"-F#m, E x 2
[Verse] AAsus4A Was it a huntsman or a player Amaj7 "Amaj7" Amaj7 That made you pay the cost F#m "F#m" F#m That now assumes relaxed positions EA And prostitutes your loss? AAsus4A Were you tortured by your own thirst Amaj7 "Amaj7" Amaj7 In those pleasures that you seek F#m "F#m" F#m That made you Tom the curious EA That makes you James the weak?
A-Asus4-A, Amaj7-"Amaj7"-Amaj7, F#m-"F#m"-F#m, E
[Chorus] EA-Asus4-A-Asus2 And you claim you got something going EA-Asus4-A-Asus2D Something you call unique DA-Asus4-A-Asus2E But I've seen your self-pity showing EA-Asus4-A As the tears rolled down your cheeks
A-Asus4-A, Amaj7-"Amaj7"-Amaj7, F#m-"F#m"-F#m, E
[Verse] Soon you know I'll leave you And I'll never look behind 'Cos I was born for the purpose That crucifies your mind So con, convince your mirror As you've always done before Giving substance to shadows Giving substance ever more
[Chorus] And you assume you got something to offer Secrets shiny and new But how much of you is repetition That you didn't whisper to him too
