Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
E So your best friend screwed you over A Acted nice when she’s not nice B7 Well I have some advice A ‘Cause it’s happened to me Twice
E Here’s my secret strategy A It always works because B7 The world doesn’t end A It just feels like it does
EA So raise your right finger B7A And solemnly swear EA Whatever they say about me B7A I don’t care
E I won’t twist in knots to join your game A I will say you make me mad B7 And if you treat me bad A I’ll say “you’re bad”
E And if I eat alone from this moment on A That’s just what I’ll do
E ‘Cause I’d rather be me A I’d rather be me B7A I’d rather be me E than be with you
E We’re supposed to all be ladies A And be nurturing and care B7 Is that really fair A Boys get to fight we have to share
E Here’s the way that turns out A We always understand B7 How to slap someone down A With our underhand
EA So here’s my right finger B7A To how girls should behave EA Cause sometimes what’s meant to break you B7A Makes you brave
E So I will not act all innocent A I won’t fake apologize B7 Let’s just fight and then make up A Not tell these lies
E Let’s call our damage even A Clean the slate till it's like new
E It’s a new life for me A Where I’d rather be me B7A I’d rather be me E Than be with you
G# I'll say NO F# I’ll say knock it off with your notes and your rules and your games G# And those sycophants who follow you
I’ll remember all their names C# And when they drag you down F# Like they inevitably do G# I will not laugh along with them BC#E and approve their palace coup ‘cause that’s not me
E I don’t need their good opinions A I have plenty of opinions B7 Everybody has opinions A but it doesn’t make them true
E What’s true is being me A And I’d rather be me B7A I’d rather be me E than be with you
E So raise them high A ‘cause playing nice and shy B7A is insulting my IQ
EA I'd Rather Be Me E I'd Rather Be Me AE I'd Rather Be Me than be with you A I'd Rather Be Me E I'd Rather Be Me AE I'd Rather Be Me than be with you
