Intro: D Bm A
I went over the last version and corrected all the mistakes. I'm not very good at this,
so somebody else could probably do a better job. It's played in ordinary tuning I think,
however in the first chords i put up I assumed it was in half step down. This is because
Radical Face's guitar is always a half step down. I realised my stupidity when I
remembered that this song is played on a piano.
The Bm and A are played in quick succession, like the chords on the piano in the song.
If you choose you could fingerpick the D to make it more like the actual song.
D Bm A
all the trees stood like skeletons
D Bm A
silhouettes of spilled ink
D Bm Bsus2
and the snows fell in sheets and got wrapped around our feet
Bsus2 A
we built the fire evermore with winter beating at the door

D Bm A
brother's eyes were getting heavier
D Bm A
his bony hands cold and white
D Bm Bsus2
and I could hear his ragged breathing like the wind along a knife
Bsus2 A G
there beside him through the night, in the hum of candlelight
D
I no longer felt the time

D
brother woke just after midnight
Bm
and he didn't make a sound
D Bm
and as he climbed from out of bed with severed rings around his head
Bsus2 A
his feet didn't touch the ground
G
I could feel it then
A
a tiny miracle
Bm
so I followed him
D
into the woods
G
crossed beneath the trees
A Bm
but only I left my prints in tow
D
he was afloat
G
found a lonely tree
A Bm
and tied himself within its limbs
D
and he said to me these words:
G
"don't you fear for me,
A D
I am where I'm supposed to be."
D Bm
and when I woke he was gone
G
and I was wrapped in blankets on the lawn
Bm Bsus2
the sky was blue and my skin matched the hue
G
and I could hear mother crying in your room
A
from here on out I wear this face for both of us

Finish on D.
