Nicole Dollanganger is a singer-songwriter from Stouffville, an eerily silent suburb of Toronto. She has been releasing her music without any label support via https://nicoledollanganger.bandcamp.com since 2012 before she was signed in 2015 by Eerie Organization, the collective/artist incubator run by Claire Boucher aka Grimes. Her music is characterized by her innocent-sounding voice accompanied by a spare instrumentation that stands in stark contrast to dark, sometimes macabre lyrics.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
Previously posted version I found to be too complicated, couldn't quite make sense of the chords, so I decided to simplify and improve them. This is meant to be played as chords, I don't think it can be picked, but I guess you could try, although the other version might be better for that.
Play with capo 1
[Verse] BmDABmD Coma baby, with your sick head; BmDABmD the doctors saved you, but you’re still dead. GDABmD Through your scalp I would like to reach in, BmDABmD so I could pull out the monster you’ve been.
[Chorus] DAGEm But you would do anything to BmDGA destroy the body that they rescued. DAGEm Your sick little head, so brain damaged, BmDGA and lying in that hospital bed.
[Verse] BmDABmD Coma baby, the cry of your bones BmDABmD and your skull when it split on the road. GDABmD I wish I’d find all the lonely remnants BmDABmD of you that left when your head cracked open.
[Chorus] DAGEm But you would do anything to BmDGA destroy the body that they rescued. DAGEm Your sick little head, so brain damaged, BmDGA and lying in that hospital bed.
[Verse] BmDBmD Lately I can’t recognise you; BmDABmD the doctors lied when they said they saved you. GDABmD You're Just the shell of the boy that you've been. BmDABmD And you’re dying, I can feel it.
