---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matthew Good - As Long as You're Mine ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Andrew Maynard Email: [email protected]
Tuning: Standard
This is a pretty rare song by one of my favourite artists. I think it's from an early demo called "Left of Normal" and the only version of it that I've ever heard is a crappy quality download, but it's still a wonderful tune.
Intro: Strum a G chord for a few bars.
Verse 1 GAmC The night it was lazy the streets were all crowded GAmC (etc...) I walked through the door at the top of the stairs She looked like a girl from a renaissance painting With clouds in her eyes and leaves in her hair I said without warning you know I’ve been waiting She said I don't even know you so I doubt that that's true And I laughed at the wall and she stared at the ceiling You know I'm not so lonely and now neither are you
Chorus AmC And I don't really care AmG No I don't really mind AmC No I don't really care AmG As long as you're mine
Verse 2 She made me talk slowly and walked out of rhythm I went down the hallway and out through the gate And she followed me strangely into the moonlight And she spoke words of anger as if I were late I slipped past her guards and into her chamber I said I'm all out of roses but my thorns aren't to fear And she moved like the ocean away from my island She said you know I'm not so lonely so how come you’re still here?
Chorus And I don't really care No I don't really mind I said I don't really care As long as you're mine
Verse 3 She mocked my good nature and pulled on my coattails She lifted me up and dropped me like a stone She said you know love is just like riding a bicycle And riding a bicycle is just another way to get thrown I turned to her laughter and let her words linger I slipped through her weak spot and watched as a cheer Turned from a victory into a massacre I said if you’re not so lonely then how come, how come you’re still here?
Chorus Said I don't really care No I don't really mind No I don't really care As long as you're mine
Verse 4 The morning was lazy the streets were all empty I looked out the window and winked at the sky And she talked to me slowly even though she was sleeping So I picked out the good things and let the rest die She said without warning you know I was waiting And I said that I told her that sometimes its true And I laughed at the window and she threw her pillow You know I'm not so lonely and now neither are you
Chorus And I don't really care No I don't really mind No I don't really care As long as you're mine No I don't really care No I don’t really mind No I don't really care As long as you're mine
