Wendy James (born on the 21st January 1966, in East Sussex, England), is a singer-songwriter - best known as lead singer with late 80's pop band Transvision Vamp. She is currently the singer with Racine.
James was adopted soon after birth and left home at the age of 16, moving to the English seaside town of Brighton. Whilst there, she studied drama and English at college. After a year, she began singing in a nightclub, where (according to her) she mainly sang Patti Smith cover songs.

AGDE I didn't want to be some satellite clown DEDE So I went up to London 'cuase I heard it's falling down AGDE Found the Denis the Menace of Little Venice DEDE Still digging up the bones of Strummer and Jones
F#m Revolutionary day were sadly over A And a cool profile down Ladbroke Grove DE Won't make it no more DE You could wake up in a doorway
ADAE London's brilliant when it's raining AED Everybody's moaning and complaining AEDA London's dismal and divine DE And I know one day, one day
It's going to be...
F#m Mine eyes have seen the gory A Faces of those bitter men DE And their bawdy talk A And that's not all F#mA Every night before I close my eyes D I'd say a prayer to my desires
Hung up on the poster on the wall
Don't let me grow up to fail and fall E If I must grow up at all
AGDE Well the night's got chilly and he swore he'd love me silly DEDE But he couldn't raise a spark in the dark in Hyde Park AGDE With a bite and a bark, he tried to make his mark DEDE Now he's getting fucked silly somewhere in Picadilly
F#m He said I could be a little Madam in Mayfair A But I'd rather wakle up in a doorway somewhere DE `Cos in the long run DE I'll propably be someone
ADAE London's brilliant when it's raining AED Everybody's moaning and complaining AEDA London's dismal and divine DE And I know one day, one day
