Biography:
The Ropes are an indie rock band from New York City, New York, USA, composed of vocalist/bassist Sharon Shy and multi-instrumentalist "Toppy". Their official biography consists of only two lines of text: "We are The Ropes. We want to fight you."
Tricky sampled their song Love Is a Chain Store on the lead single Does It from his 2013 album False Idols.
Originally founded as a full band in 2005, they became a duo in early 2008, describing working with other band members “a living hell.”
