"He's On The Beach"
As recorded by: The Lemonheads (B-side to "Big Gay Heart")
Chords by: Aaron Williams
CG He was just a friend of mine, I'd run into from time to time AmF Long before he moved away, we use to share a drink of wine. CGF Still I never knew that he was sad that way CFGFCG He said the time had come for him to take a holiday
{Chorus}: CF And he says its brilliant there, there's something in the air, CG and sunshine everywhere. He's on the beach. CF I know he's changed somehow, it's in his postcards now CG I'm not sure where he is, but he's out of reach.
CG When he called me up one day and said that he was going away, AmF I thought he meant a week in France, and not 12,000 miles in Sydney Bay. CGF Still he had to take his chances. CFGFCG He said the time had come for him to make a move away.
{Chorus}: CF And he says its brilliant there, there's something in the air, CG and sunshine everywhere. He's on the beach. CF I know he's changed somehow, it's in his postcards now CG He's on his own again, and he's out of reach.
{Bridge}:
And I don't blame him. Leaving was the best thing he could do.
He longed for changes, I just hope he's happy,
when he does the things he thinks he has to do.
And he tries, and tries, and tries, but he's lived at home (?)
I think he's trying to be someone else, and he says, he says, he says,
CF it's really unfair...there's something in the air, CG and sunshine everywhere. He's on the beach. CF I know he's changed somehow, it's in his postcards now CG He's in Australia, so far out of reach. CFCG And he says it's pretty(?) there.
