"Inches From You" from the album Follow, by The Currys
This song is in standard tuning and 6/8 time, sort of a waltz time signature. The intro
guitar part emphasizes
this with a down-up-up picking pattern that hinges on the bass note. This figure is
played in the first
verse as well, and could also be used in lieu of strumming the second verse. (Note that
"E/F#" isn't the best
name for that second chord, but it's the simplest option I could think of that conveys
the musical idea. In any
event, it's tabbed correctly.)

Verse 1:
E E/F# E E/F#
Where is he on this lovely evening
E E/F# E E/F#
While you and me, darlin', black dress sweeping
F#m B
About your legs, pour the red wine
F#m B
Come and fill my cup, oh, we'll drink it up, again, again
Chorus:
C#m A E B C#m
He doesn't know, night taking hold and you pull me in close
A E B C#m
You take me to places we shouldn't be going
A E B C#m
Watching you move, now suddenly, oh, we're alone in your room
A E B C#m
And I'm dying here only inches from you
A E B E
I'm dying here only inches from you
Verse 2:
He's out of town, but that's no reason
To call me up and start your teasing
About those days when we were,
But you touch my lips, now I'm sinking in, again, again
Chorus
Bridge:
A C#m A C#m
All those pictures of you smiling
A C#m F#m
Is he holding that gaze in your eye?
A C#m A C#m
Could I break this? Could I take this?
A C#m F#m
Could I make this love mine?
(back to intro picking part)
E F#m E F#m
Where is he, baby? You and me, baby,
E F#m E F#m
On this lovely, this lovely, this lovely evening
E F#m E F#m
On this lovely, oh no...
Chorus x2
Outtro (same as Intro)
