This song is in the Key of C. Not the Open C that I'm familiar with though.
If you tune to Open D and then drop every string a whole step, and play the chords as they are
below, you should be in good shape.
The G is really a Gsus4 I believe, but to simplify the chord placement with the lyrics, we will call it G.
He does a lot of fills in between lyrics, consisting mostly of the G chord shown below,
and the second C chord shown below and simply sliding
up and down and/or hammering on and pulling off of those two formations to and from the C chord (open).
It's fun as shit, so have fun with it. That seems to be what he does.
Watch this video and you'll see what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSYSviu-V8g
The video in the link, he plays it a half step up from the album version.
Enjoy.

When the drummin' hoard surrounds you, and boundless chance has found to

Bleedin’ side by side in a bloody romance

And the epic strings are sounding, love on love rebounding

Who’s gonna touch the ground first when we land
[Bridge]

I chased this song around the country,

City after city after city pursuit

In the end it up and found me, where I didn't even think to look
[Hook]
