Dressed in leather, brandishing heavy guitars, and exhibiting an unabashed fetish for British Invasion pop, the Smithereens were an anomaly in the American college rock scene of the late '80s. Lead singer/songwriter/guitarist Pat DiNizio stood out not only with his strange beatnik goatee, but also because his catchy hooks were haunting, not punchy, and because his lyrics were morose. As time wore on, the group became more straightforward, turning into an excellent bar band, one that attacked pop songs with the weight of AC/DC.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

Here's a song from the Smithereens, ESPECIALLY FOR YOU album. This is indeed my first time posting so if y'all got any comments, please tell me before i get into a bad habit! Like I said, I'm really clueless so if this winds up in pub/guitar/s/smithereens I would be most gracious!
Cigarette (intro) G//|D//|E//|F#//| (verse1) AEGD smoked my last cigarette, sat in bed for a while, FCDE thought of your face and that brought me a smile, AEGD wanted another one, fell back asleep instead, FCDE woke and found you sitting there on the bed
(chorus) GDAE cigarette, cigarette, burning up time. GDAE cigarette, cigarette, watch the smoke climb. GDAE cigarette, cigarette, wasting away... GDAE just like this cigarette, our time is running down, GDEF# only one hour 'til you're leavin' this town.
(bridge) GDAE ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, GDAE ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, GDAE just like this cigarette, our time is running down, GDEF# only one hour 'till you're leavin' this town.
(verse2) walked to the corner store, bought us another pack, held my arm 'round you as we headed back. I tried to change your mind, didn't want you to go, I love you more, I think, than you will ever know.
(repeat chorus)
(coda) smoked one last cigarette, sat in bed for a while, thought of your face and that brought me a smile...
