Roger McGuinn (born James McGuinn III) is most famous for being a founding member, singer, guitarist, and songwriter in The Byrds. Since that band's demise he has had moderate success as a solo artist, working with many other artists, including Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. Some of his solo material has appeared in films, such as 1969's Easy Rider. Roger, along with the other Byrds members, was honored with an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.

Roger McGuinn Living Legend written by Roger McGuinn
GC Everybody called him a living legend DG But just being a legend didn't make him a living C And every day on the job his mind went spinning DG Back to twenty years ago and all the shows he was giving GAm He's a living legend he's got nowhere to go CDCD What he'd give to be on the road and to do another show GAm He's a living legend oh how he loved that life CDCDG Now he works in the factory and he just drinks beer at night GC Some of the younger stars grew up on his music DG And they liked his style so much they decided to use it C When he heard his songs on the radio he started to lose it DG But when the big money came in he couldn't refuse it GAm He's a living legend he's got nowhere to go CDCD What he'd give to be on the road and to do another show GAm He's a living legend oh how he loved that life CDCDG Now he works in the factory and he just drinks beer at night GC One day he brought his old guitar to the factory picnic DG And B.J. the country DJ heard him play it GC And everybody was still amazed at how well he could still pick DG And they booked him in the Golden Eagle before you could say it GAm He's a living legend he's got somewhere to go CDCD He's so glad to be on the road and to do another show GAm He's a living legend oh how he loves his life CDCDG And now he plays his music for the people every night AmDCDG And now he plays his music for the people every night
