[Intro]
D A G

D A
North of Portales above the Caprock plain
C G
She was lookin' out a window wishing for rain
D A
I found her sleeping in a hay- stack
C G
I left her dreaming, never been back

[Chorus]
D A G
Hand woven love songs and sadness
D A G
Is all I sing when I think of you
D A G
Morning love sighs, good-byes and madness
D A G
Is all I ever gave to you

D A
She was a woman, she was barely twenty-five
C G
So nice to look at, wild and alive
D A
She was in love, you know, but I could not see
C G
When she'd say her prayers, she'd say one for me

[Chorus]
D A G
Hand woven love songs of sadness
D A G
Is all I sing when I think of you
D A G
Morning love sighs, good-byes and madness
D A G
Was all I ever gave to you

[Solo]
D A C G

D A
Sometime that winter I heard that old road
C G
The high wire wind cold and alone
D A
Then she give me this old ring for my hand
C G
She said, "I know you're leaving, love me while you can"

[Chorus]
D A G
Hand woven love songs of sadness
D A G
Is all I sing when I think of you
D A G
Morning love sighs, good-byes and lies and madness
D A G
Was all I ever gave to you
D A G D
Was all I ever gave to you -----
