Karlzen’s career began in 1992 when an indie label owner offered to record her first album, “Mary Karlzen.” It was released regionally and established her as a unique new talent. Soon after, Atlantic Records signed her just as a wave of new female acts like Sheryl Crow and Jewel were exploding on the music scene. “Yelling at Mary” received outstanding reviews from The Washington Post, People Magazine, Musician Magazine, The Chicago Sun-Times, Billboard and dozens of other publications.

TIMES FORGOTTEN CRIME (Mary Karlzen) ------------------------------------ [Actually in F#; capo 4.]
DABmGDAGG [intro]
DABmG How'd we ever get so far away DABmG I hadn't seen you for years DABmG And you look so happy, everything's going great DABm But things ain't never been great here
AAGG But there was a time when I could see through you AAGG And there was a time when I knew every line AAGG And there was a time when I thought I knew you EmEmAAGDAA Time's forgotten crime, yours is long gone by
And I'm ashamed to think of times we spent together When I did show you everything And heavens hope you can't remember all those secrets And the pain that would bring
But there was a time when I could see through you And there was a time when I knew every line And there was a time when I thought I knew you EmEmAAGD Time's forgotten crime, yours is long gone by AAGDAA Yours is long gone by
And then you knocked me down and you stood so tall The strangest look on your face And I guess I never really knew you at all I stand silent in this fool's place
But there was a time when we talked about the future And there was a time when I believed every line And there was a time when I thought I knew you EmEmAAGD Time's forgotten crime, yours is long gone by AAGD Yours is long gone by AAGDAA Yours is long gone by
