Here's Lloyd Cole's "Mannish Girl" - a non-album track on the "Morning is Broken" CD5. Great song - should have been on the album.
Intro DAEm7G
DA I used to be content to frown
Em7G But anything for money now
DAEm7G I'd rather be a mannish kind of girl
DA I used to get drunk on Spanish wine
Em7G Well, now I'm drunk most all the time
DAEm7G I guess I've been to grateful for too long
*chorus*
F#m So I sit around and wait
G And watch the grass grow green
And count the cars
AGG/F#Em7 Feeling lost alone and misunderstood
DAEm7G So I wait, hey hey
DAEm7G Yes I wait, hey hey
*verse 2 - same* Well I had a girl in London town She picked me up and spun me round I guess she was a mannish kind of girl I went away and I still don't know why Six feet under is where my bloody heart lies I'm just afraid I can't forget her now
*chorus -same* So I sit around and wait And watch the grass grow green And count the cars Feeling lost alone and misunderstood So I wait, hey hey So I wait, hey hey, hey hey
*verse 3 - same* I used to be too big too crawl Now I don't give a damn at all I'd rather be a mannish kind of girl Yeah I used to get drunk on that Spanish wine But now I'm drunk most all the time I guess I'm just afraid I can't forget her now
*chorus - same - keep repeating D A Em7 G over extra lines* And so I sit around and wait And watch the grass grow green And count the cars Feeling lost alone and misunderstood So I wait, hey hey Yeah I wait, hey hey Yes I wait, hey hey Yeah I wait, hey hey, hey hey
