Levellers is a popular English rock band influenced by punk and traditional English music. The band is based in Brighton, England, where they were founded in 1988. There are several stories regarding how they got their name; from the Levellers, a radically democratic faction of Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army; as a reference to "The Level", a flat open space near where members of the band used to live in Brighton; or simply, according to guitarist, Simon Friend, a word they chose from a dictionary.

Far from home ... a nice easy acoustic guitar part.....
Listen to the song to get the intro right .. .it has a strange(but nice) strumming pattern whch is harder to write out than it is to play.
All chords are open .. .so play them at the first fret *except G* which is on the second..(that might seem obvious to some people but it is best to be told everything that struggle with nothing.)

The main verse goes like this ....
C Its warm by the river, the wier keeps us clean, C(sus4)/F C the wood smoke and cigarettes are all that we need.
Marking the dirt with twigs and simple words spoke, C(sus4)/f kicking the dirt so that we can just .. C Dance the dance that plays it with the fire , B(flat) C play guitar and he played it inspired. B(flat) You said you would leave it not ever underneath C the sky forever....
Then the middle part .. and chorus ...
GDmB(flat) CG When we're so far from home.. DmB(flat) no means of return ... there's so much that we have taught C and so much we have learned.
The last verse is the same ... the lyrics are :-
Its cold by the pane glass on the high street we played, Theres always a penny in the music we made. So far from home and , no means of return, burning the bridges so we'd always.. Dance the dance that he plays with the fire, play guitar and he played it inspired. You said you would leave it not aver, underneath the sky forever.
Its a really good song .. and not too hard either ..
