Plant a Rose Instead
D G D
My last drink was twenty-years ago
A
I take it one day at a time, as they have said.
D G
But today, it was really touch and go
D A D
So I planted a rose, instead.
D G D
Creeping age and ailments, are the cause
A
Maybe one drink, wouldnt be so bad..
D G
But your pretty smile, made me pause
D A D
And I planted a rose instead
D G D
Many times, I would given in
A
Your strong faith kept me straight ahead
D G
And turned my losing thoughts, to those to win
D A D
And I planted another rose, instead
D G D
Thank God, you have been here for me
A
Enduring may actionsyou had to dread
G
Your patient love opened my eyes and told me
D A D
To plant another rose, instead.
G D
Now you have a rose garden, instead.
