To make sure they were up to par

He learned his trade while in the navy

He could handle the knife, and I dont mean maybe

There was big wooden ice box

That kept the milk, cream and butter cool

On the far side of the store were the shoes and sox

You served yourself, honor code was the rule

Old Guy Hathorn was a happy man

He took care of clothes, produce fillin our needs

Thinking back, we were all great fans
