The Moody Blues are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964, initially consisting of keyboardist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas, guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick.
They first came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music. After some early lineup changes, the band settled on a line-up of Pinder, Thomas, Edge, guitarist Justin Hayward and bassist John Lodge, which would stay together for most of the band's "classic era" through the late 1960s-early 1970s.

[Verse 1]
EmD/F#EmD/F# Nights in white satin, never reaching the end, CGFEm Letters I've written, never meaning to send. EmD/F#EmD/F# Beauty I've always missed, with these eyes before, CGFEm Just what the truth is, I can't say any more ACEmD/F#EmD Cause I love you, yes I love you, oh, how I love you.
[Verse 2]
EmD/F#EmD/F# Gazing at people, some hand in hand, CGFEm Just what I'm going through, they can't understand. EmD/F#EmD/F# Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend, CGFEm Just what you want to be, you'll be in the end. ACEmD/F#EmD/F# And I love you, yes I love you, oh, how I love you.
