The Fratellis is an alternative rock band from Glasgow, Scotland who took their name from the villains in the film "The Goonies" (although, by coincidence, Barry's mother's maiden name is in fact Fratelli). The band consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli (real name John Lawler), bass guitarist Barry Fratelli (real name Barry Wallace), and drummer, backing vocalist, occasional guitarist and banjo player Mince Fratelli (real name Gordon McRory).
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
Yeah so.. All of seen of this song on here is inaccurate versions or people claiming you a capo.. Which you dont (: So here's my accurate tab for the chords and one of the riffs. I will attempt to transcribe all of the lead guitar at a later date
Standard tuning - EADGBe
Chords used - A, A/G#, F#m, Bm, E, C#7, D, B7
For those of you who do not know what i mean by a A/G#, it is purely your box standard A with a G# bass added. A nice touch when descending to an F#m. The chord should therefore look like this E A D G B e 4-0-3-3-3-0
AA/G#F#m Babydoll do you believe they'll catch you when you fall
BmEDE And when morning comes the sun is gonna shine
AA/G#F#m Don't forget your minor keys your half lit cigarette
BmE Cause when morning comes god knows that you'll be mine
AC#7F#mED So let me in I'm ready to beg and to sing for my sins
F#mED Not leave it to chance and sweet coincidence
B7E7DE Well thats that's just crazy and you know it's true
AA/G#F#m Well they said you was long gone
C#7D I just laughed and said alright
ADE Bring her home tonight
AA/G#F#m And I heard you was graciously put on
C#7DAD DE I just laughed and said good night guess it's alright
AA/G#F#m Babydoll the men who hang like flowers in the hall
BmEDE Are asking when your love is gonna show
AA/G# And who knows why the love your need
F#m Will always pass you by
BmE Well I heard it's true your love is gonna grow
AC#7F#mED So let me know cause I can stay or honey I can go
F#mED Just to wherever you tell me so
B7E7 And find my place there and there I'll stay
AA/G#F#mC#7 Well they said you was burned out I just laughed
DAD And said come on she's not burned she's just gone
AA/G#F#mC#7 And it took me too long till I found out
DAD Faces that you know the best oh well I guess
AA/G#F#mC#7 And they laughed when you said you was leaving
DAD Everybody knows you well except for me can't you tell
AA/G#F#mC#7 And you watched from the wings of the late show roses
DAD By you're feet of red all for me you said
Babydoll...
From here on the opening sequence is repeated over & over to fade. (A, A/G#, F#m, Bm, E)
Over this sequence there are two distinctive riffs. The first of which is tabbed below:
