The Boy Least Likely To are an English indie pop/folk duo, comprised of composer/multi-instrumentalist Pete Hobbs and lyricist/singer Jof Owen.
Owen and Hobbs both grew up in the village of Wendover, Buckinghamshire. They met when they were still in school and started writing songs together. They began writing and recording songs for The Boy Least Likely To in the summer of 2002. The group created the independent label Too Young to Die as a means to release their music.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
G I was young and I was stupid I had just turned seventeen
Em I took my hits on a dumb road trip to Nashville Tennessee
CEmCEm I packed my antihistamines and tuppaware drums
CEm A harmonica and a box guitar
D In a canvas covered wagon stuffed with apples and with guns
G We quietly slipped across the border into Arkansas
Em But still we couldn't find what it was we were looking for
CEmCEm So we trucked on down to try our luck along the Rio Grande
CEm But I couldn't help but notice how
D The little things that used to make us happy make us sad
G But I'm glad I hitched my apple wagon to your star
Em I never would have got here if I followed my heart
C I didn't think much of it until i took it apart
D I'm glad I hitched my apple wagon to your star
G We never ever made it down to Nashville in the end
Em And noone ever signed our stupid country disco band
CEmCEm However hard we tried it never seemed enough
CEm We never did get famous,
D Still it made us kinda happy and it get me off the drugs
G And now I'm glad I hitched my apple wagon to your star
Em I never would have got here if I followed my heart
C I didn't think much of it until i took it apart
D I'm glad I hitched my apple wagon to your star
D To your star
D To your star
D To your star
