Soul Asylum is an American alternative rock band formed in the summer of 1981 by Minneapolis high school friends Dan Murphy, Karl Mueller, and Dave Pirner. The band (named Loud Fast Rules up until 1984) quickly became frontrunners of American college rock, following in the tradition of fellow Minnesota bands Hüsker Dü and The Replacements.
Landing their first record deal with Twin/Tone in 1984, Soul Asylum recorded a total of four albums for the local label: Say What You Will.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

Verse 1: A5G5D5E5E5G5E5A5G5D5E5 I don't own you, but I know you're mine. A5G5D5E5E5G5E5A5G5D5E5 Never dis - own you, never treat you unkind. (no chord) A5////////// G5E5G5A5////////// Once in a while______ you get on my nerves. G5E5G5A5//G5//A5///// G5A5G5A5G5E5 Once in a while______ you get what you deserve. EGAbAAAbAbGGGGEGAbAAAbAbAbG I need you ninety-nine percent of the time, ninety-nine percent of the time EGA AAbAbGGGGEGAbAAAbAbAbG Ninety-nine percent of the time, ninety-nine percent of the time.
Use the same chord formations for verses 2 and three.
Verse 2:
If I asked you, what's on your mind, would you say me, would they be thoughts unkind? Once in a while____ I'm not myself. Once in a while____ I think you're someone else. I want you 99% of the time, 99% of the time. 99% of the time 99% of the time.
I have no idea what the hell is going on in the break between the second and third verses. Just freak out and make noise, it will probably sound about right.
Verse 3:
I can't touch you, but you feel so f****** fine Let's just stay like this and waste some more time. Once in a while____ you gin in my way. Once in a while____ you know I got to say.. I love you 99% of the time, 99% of the time. 99% of the time, 99% of the time.
(continue with same chords) 99% of the time, 99% of the time. 99% of the time, 99% of the time.
(back to chord progression at the beginning of the verse) A5G5D5E5E5G5E5A5G5D5E5A5
And then make as much noise as possible.
