Turin Brakes are a modern folk pop duo comprising two friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, hailing from Balham, London, signed to Cooking Vinyl.
Turin Brakes have often been compared to many of the New Acoustic Movement's bands spawned in the late 90's such as Elbow, Starsailor, I Am Kloot (who were a support band for Turin Brakes on their Ether Song tour) and the Norwegian band the Kings of Convenience.
Their debut album "The Optimist LP" (2001) was nominated for the Mercury Prize that same year.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turin Brakes – Full of Stars -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can play the G in bare too if you like. If you play the Bx, use the fingerpositions of a normal Bm in bare (on the 7th) and use your pinky to play the notes on the 10th fret. You can also skip the whole chord if its too hard.
Intro: (humming part)
DAm x8
Verse 1:
DAm I'm gonna get me a bone today
DAm Under the big blue sky
DAm Under the tree where my last love laid,
DAm Now where beneath the leaves she lies
DAm I'm gonna dig a deep hole,
DAm Crack open this bone,
DAm See where all the wonder went,
DAm See where now it's all gone
Chorus:
G Bx Bm Look at the light, it's full of stars
Bx G Bx Bm What's really happening? Something wonderful
Bx G It's not as bad as I was told,
Bx Bm To lose all that was loved
Bx G It's the demons who drag you down
Bx Bm Bx (AmD x3) But the angels pull you up...
Verse 2:
DAm Don't let the colors bring you down,
DAm They'll get much brighter one day
DAm You know all things must come around
DAm if you leave them in their sway
DAm I'm gonna save it all in these photographs
DAm Keep something here for me
DAm When I'm dead and gone I'll have the last laugh
DAm At what's left here to see
