Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band who formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. The band were led throughout their recording career by bassist, songwriter and singer Phil Lynott, and are best known for their songs Whiskey in the Jar, Jailbreak and The Boys Are Back in Town, all major international hits still played regularly on hard rock and classic rock radio stations. After Lynott died, various incarnations of the band have emerged over the years culminating in a more stable line-up based around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes.

The chord pattern is as follows (for the verse) :
BA#G#F#BBA#G#BF# BA#G#F#BBA#G#BD# .... (repeat as needed)
Lyrics :
BA#G#F#B Down from the glen came the marching men BA#G#BF# with their shields and their swords BA#G#F#B to fight the fight they believed to be right BA#G#BD#D#D# (etc.) to overthrow their overlords.
To the town where there was plenty they brought plunder, swords and flame when they left the town was empty children would never play again.
(can't remember 3'rd verse)
The bridges in the song are based on simple scale patterns, and aren't too hard to work out. The solo is also fairly easy-ish, but requires a lot of work to tab and learn (so is not included here - I'm lazy)
