The Youngbloods was an American rock band consisting of Jesse Colin Young (vocals, bass), Jerry Corbitt (guitar), Lowell Levinger, nicknamed "Banana" (guitar and electric piano), and Joe Bauer (drums). Despite receiving critical acclaim, they never achieved widespread popularity. Their only U.S. Top 40 entry was "Get Together".
Jesse Colin Young got his start as a solo act on the folk circuits of Boston and New York and had already cut a couple of unsuccessful albums before deciding to form a band with guitarist Jerry Corbitt.

AG Here I sit remembering what you promised me BbD Things don't always turn out like they're suppose to be AG Seems I didn't see just what was going down BbD Girl you sure did have my mind all turned around GA But now the dream has ended the world that I intended BmAGF# Crashing down into bitter reality G It's been revealed quite clearly ABmAGF# A dreamers dream can only be reality if two dreamers dream

AG Promises to you are like a song to sing BbD But your song is empty there's no feeling AG Yes my dreams alone can't change anything BbD Guess you better find another song to sing GA But now the dream has ended the world that I intended BmAGF# Crashing down into bitter reality G It's been revealed quite clearly ABmAGF# A dreamers dream can only be reality if two dreamers dream
BmEBmE
AG Promises to you it seems fade with the sun BbD New day new life I can see you have begun GA But now the dream has ended the world that I intended BmAGF#G Crashing down into bitter reality it's been revealed quite clearly ABmAGF# A dreamers dream can only be reality if two dreamers dream
