Hands And Faces

by The Used
The Used

Biography:

The Used is an American alternative rock band from Orem, Utah. Their sound has been classified under many sub-genres of rock. They signed with Reprise Records in late 2001 and rose to fame in June 2002 after releasing their debut self-titled album, The Used. Soon after a CD/DVD package named "Maybe Memories" was released containing unheard demos and a "behind the scenes" story of the band/band's past. They followed up with their second album, In Love And Death, in September 2004 and their third album, Lies For The Liars, in May 2007.

Intro

1.Verse

Em
How can I not taste it,
C H
when it's right there put it in my hand.
C H
And let's not put it in their faces.
C H
Hide the obvious just a little bit,
A
It's coming to this.

Em
You'll know they'll never face it,
C H
They're just a face all covered with a rag.
C H
And they can't stop talking,
C
so the bigger it gets.
H A
And yeah they take up space but still nothing's wasted.

Refrain

Em H Em
A lie is a lie with crossed hearts and hopes to die.
D
You can find me underground,
Em
where I can't hear a sound.
C
I watched you get down on your knees,
H Em
in hopes that I would turn around.
D
So now you'll find me underground,
D
where I can't hear a Sound,
Em
where I can't hear a Sound.

2. Verse (the same)

Em
I tried hard to erase it.
C H
I tried not to use it cause' I can.
C H
And don't tell me what a race is,
C H
Cause I can get fucked up more than a little bit
A
It's coming to this.

Em
We pay to watch it wasted,
C H
They're just a face all covered with a rag.
C
And they might keep running,
H
but the slower they move.
C H
And those moves in time with their perfect placement.

Refrain (almost the same)

Em H Em
A lie is a lie with crossed hearts and hopes to die.
D
You can find me underground,
Em
where I can't hear a sound.
C
I watched you get down on your knees,
H Em
in hopes that I would turn around.
D
So now you'll find me underground,
D
where I can't hear a Sound,
D
where I can't hear a Sound,
Em
where I can't hear a Sound.

Bridge

Em
What can I say,
G
I would have gone another way
D
cause that isn't me.
C
I was born to fade away.
Em G
It's nothing you did, just something I felt as a kid.
D
And now I can't feel
C
I can't feel anything at all.
Em
It's nothing at all,
D. em
I feel nothing at all, nothing at all!

Refrain

Em H Em
A lie is a lie with crossed hearts and hopes to die.
D
You can find me underground,
Em
where I can't hear a sound.
C
I watched you get down on your knees,
H Em
in hopes that I would turn around.
D
So now you'll find me underground,
D
where I can't hear a Sound,
Em
where I can't hear a Sound.
