E Bm A D G
My thoughts are my doctor's excuse for medicine
Bm D A D G
But I find it healthy to get lost inside my head
D A D
And come back with all that I can find
G
And write it down on light blue lines
A D G
It's far more useful than reading the Contra Costa Times

(each note here is about three quick strums, some have one up strum in it)
E D G D E A G Bm A G D A G D

G Bm
Fifty-Five up YV road, Encina on my left
Em Bm
All you tried and failed to do was justify your theft
A D G
And I get that you're bereft of other things to occupy yourself
Bm A D G
But keep my goddamn name out of your mouth (you're just a shade of gray)

D
And all I want is forward progress
G A F#m Bm A G
And maybe next year I'll miss your face but right now its still worthless.
D A
Wasted time, mostly mine its not my fucking fault
G
So get lost and find your way home
Bm G
(get lost and find your way home)
Bm
Get lost and find your way home!

D A Bm A G
Leave my mind alone so I can rate and number my thoughts 1 2 3
E Em A D A D
On a list that weighs and measures my priorities
A G
It goes 1-friends 2-bands 3-that green two-tone van
Bm A D G
And losing my money it's not about money

D A D
Cuz all I want is forward progress
G A Bm G
And maybe next year I'll miss your face but right now its still worthless.
D A
Wasted time, mostly mine its not my fucking fault
G
So get lost and find your way home. (Get lost and find your way home.)
A Em
Get lost and find your way home.

And all I got was a blank stare

Right between the eyes like I wasn't there

Right between the eyes like I wasn't there
