"Sunshine" by Juliana Hatfield
The previous "Sunshine" tab has some nifty chords, but they don't sound anything like
song. Here's my interpretation of "Sunshine." I'm sure the song is more complicated, but
I have sounds good.
Capo IV - For the capo-less, the chords in the parantheses are the actual sounding
But the song sounds brighter and closer to the recording with a capo.
Verse:
B(D#) A(C#) B(D#) A(C#)
Everybody gets down sometimes
B(D#) A(C#) B(D#) A(C#)
You get happy with a sugar buzz
F#(A#) E(G#) F#(A#) E(G#)
White chocolate is your favorite drug
B(D#) A(C#) B(D#) A(C#)
I go underneath the covers
B(D#) A(C#) B(D#) A(C#)
There are things I do not understand
F#(A#) E(G#) F#(A#) E(G#)
When I reach out will you slap my hand?
Chorus:
B(D#) F#(A#) A(C#)
B(D#) F#(A#) E(G#) A(C#)
I've been sleeping through my life
B(D#) F#(A#) A(C#)
Now I'm waking up
E(G#) B(D#) F#(A#) E(G#)
A(C#)
And I want to stand in the sunshine
Verse:
I have never been ecstatic
Had a flower but it never bloomed
In the darkness of my wasted youth
It was hiding in the shadows
Learning to become invisible
Uncover me
Weeping willow
Chorus:
I've been sleeping
I've been sleeping through my life
Now I'm waking up
And I want to stand in the sunshine
Bridge:
Am(C#m) Em(G#m) F#(A#) Em - Em7*
– G#m7)
Ah oh ah oh
Am(C#m) Em(G#m) F#(A#)
Ah oh ah oh
Verse:
Waking up
Forgotten memories of
Laughter and war
That we lived through
And all the people that I never knew
Chorus:
I've been sleeping through
My life
Now I'm waking up
And I want to stand in the sunshine
End:
B(D#) A(C#) B(D#) A(C#)
I'm waking up
B(D#) A(C#) B(D#) A(C#)
I want to stand in the sunshine
F#(A#) E(G#) F#(A#) E(G#)
I'm waking up
F#(A#) E(G#) F#(A#) E(G#)
I want to stand in the sunshine
*The Em7(G#m7) is just an embellishment to make the progression sound better. You don’t
to use it.
