Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly

A Song

by Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly

Biography:

One-man band Sam Duckworth, from Southend, Essex, UK, writes socially-motivated acoustic songs, set to a background of scatty electronic beats running from his laptop; what you might call "folktronica". Influences include Roni Size, Athlete, Gomez, Elbow, The Streets and Rival Schools.

Having released one EP and two splits (one CD, one 10") through Big Scary Monsters, Sam signed to Atlantic records in March 2006.

Since then he has released two albums.

Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

Beautiful song to play, noticed there aren't any chords up for it, these seem fairly accurate.

NB I suspend the C and G chords with fret 3 on both High E and B strings, with my pinky
ring/ penultimate finger / whatever you wanna call it ;)but with or without works.

Play open for the real thing, but I sometimes put capo on 7th takes the strain off the
- enjoy.

G
And i've got a mars bar that says
C Em D
That you're never going to write a song as good as the one that's on the
G
internet.

G
And it doesn't even have a title.
C Em
Are you that uninspired that you couldn't
D G
Think of something more complex?

G C Em
And isn't it ironic that i once wrote a song
D G
That said i never would write anything
G C Em
Introspective again as a means to an end?
D C
Yet all i can seem to do today is write about myself.

G C
And so it's time to change this tact
Em
Before we go and break our backs
D G
On paths we've walked a thousand times before
G C
So i'll do this once for you.
Em D
Your concert album reminded me of when i was young and when i was full of
G
hope.

G C Em
D
And isn't it ironic how you once wrote a song that always brought you down
G
but served to build me up?
G C Em
And i still remember when we were listening to b-i
D
And i could see it in your eyes
G
While the rocket's words would echo
G C
The thoughts inside my head
Em D G
"these are the moments that we'll never forget"

G C
And may this song be the soundtrack to
Em D
All the times that you're uninspired.
G C
So take heed and begin to realise
Em D
That maybe one day you'll inspire others.
G C
And may this song be the soundtrack to
Em D
All the times that you're uninspired.
G C
So take heed and begin to realise
Em D G
That maybe one day you'll inspire others again.

G C
And may this song be the soundtrack to
Em D
All the times that you're uninspired.
G C
So take heed and begin to realise
Em D
That maybe one day you'll inspire others.
G C
And may this song be the soundtrack to
Em D
All the times that you're uninspired.
G C
So take heed and begin to realise
Em D G
That maybe one day you'll inspire others again.

Thanks and enjoy :)
