Gene Clark, born Harold Eugene Clark (born Tipton, Missouri, November 17, 1944[1] - May 24, 1991) was an American singer-songwriter, and one of the founding members of the folk-rock group The Byrds.
Gene Clark is best remembered for being The Byrds main songwriter between 1964 and 1966. He created a large catalogue of music in several genres but failed to achieve solo commercial success. Clark was one of the earliest exponents of psychedelic rock, baroque pop, newgrass, country rock and alternative country.

Gene Clark Some Misunderstanding written by Gene Clark
GAm There's been some misunderstanding DAmEm And I'd like to make it right GAm Both of us need inspiration DAmEm And the timing must be right EmC We all have souls yet nobody knows AmDEm Just how much it takes to fly GAmDAmEm But I see my life before me and I'd like to make a try GAm Maybe someone knows what fate is DAmEm Maybe someone knows just why GAm All I know it's all related DAmEm Maybe someone can explain time Em But I know if you sell your soul CAmD To brighten your role you might be disappointed Em In the lights
We all need a fix C At a time like this AmDEm But doesn't it it feel good to stay alive
SOLO
GAm Now I see that in my visions DAmEm That my eyes are seeing twice GAmDAmEm Once for every expectation and once for what I realize Em But I know if you sell your soul CAmD To brighten your role you might be disappointed Em In the lights we all need a fix C At a time like this AmDEm But doesn't it it feel good to stay alive
