Gene Clark, born Harold Eugene Clark (born Tipton, Missouri, November 17, 1944[1] - May 24, 1991) was an American singer-songwriter, and one of the founding members of the folk-rock group The Byrds.
Gene Clark is best remembered for being The Byrds main songwriter between 1964 and 1966. He created a large catalogue of music in several genres but failed to achieve solo commercial success. Clark was one of the earliest exponents of psychedelic rock, baroque pop, newgrass, country rock and alternative country.

D/BEABm Sit by my side, come as close as the air DEC#m Share in a memory of gray F#mBmEA Wander in my words and dream about the pictures BmEA That I play D/BEABm Green leaves of summer turn red in the fall DEC#m To brown and to yellow they fade. F#mBmE And then they have to die, trapped within ABmEA The circle time parade of changes D/BEABm Scenes of my young years were warm in my mind DEC#m Visions of shadows that shine. F#mBmE Til one day I returned and found they were the ABmEA Victims of the vines of changes

BmEABm Your tears will be trembling, now we're somewhere else, DEC#m One last cup of wine we will pour F#mBmE And kiss you one more time, and leave you on ABmEA The rolling river shores of changes.
