Amy Jade Winehouse (born 14 September 1983 in Southgate, London, died 23 July 2011 in Camden, London) was an English singer and composer, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including soul, jazz, rock 'n' roll and Rhythm and Blues.
Her musical formation went through listening to such jazz legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Sarah Vaughan; she was later influenced by contemporary metropolitan popular music as well. She represented a union of these aesthetics: a happy fusion of '40s jazz

[Verse 1] E All I can ever be to you G#m Is a darkness that we knew AF#m And this regret I've got accustomed to E Once it was so right G#m When we were at our height AF#m Waiting for you in the hotel at night E I knew I hadn't met my match G#m But every moment we could snatch AF#m I don't know why I got so attached E It's my responsibility G#m And you don't owe nothing to me AF#m But to walk away I have no capacity
[Chorus] A He walks away G#m The sun goes down AG#m He takes the day but I'm grown AG#m And in your way in this blue shade F#A My tears dry on their own
[Verse 2] E I don't understand G#m Why do I stress the man AF#m When there's so many bigger things at hand E We could a never had it all G#m We had to hit a wall AF#m So this is inevitable withdrawal E Even if I stop wanting you G#m A perspective pushes through AF#m I'll be some next man's other woman soon E I can not play myself again G#m I should just be my own best friend AF#m Not fuck myself in the head with stupid men
[Chorus] A He walks away G#m The sun goes down AG#m He takes the day but I'm grown AG#m And in your way in this blue shade F#A My tears dry on their own
[Bridge] E So we are history E Your shadow covers me E The sky above ablaze E That only lovers see
[Chorus] A He walks away C#m The sun goes down AG#m He takes the day but I'm grown AG#m And in your way in this blue shade F#A My tears dry on their own
[Verse 3] E I wish I could say no regrets G#m And no emotional debts AF#m Cause as we kiss goodbye the sun sets E So we are history G#m The shadow covers me AF#m The sky above ablaze that only lovers see
[Chorus] A He walks away G#m The sun goes down AG#m He takes the day but I'm grown AG#m And in your way in this blue shade F#A My tears dry on their own A He walks away G#m The sun goes down AG#m He takes the day but I'm grown AG#m And in your way in this blue shade F#A My tears dry on their own A He walks away G#m The sun goes down AG#m He takes the day but I'm grown AG#m And in your way in this blue shade F#A My tears dry on their own
