G The light was leaving and the west it was blue CG The children's laughter sang
And skipping just like the stones they threw C Their voices echoed across the way Am6 It's getting late
GFC It was just another night D With a sunset GFC And a moonrise not so far behind D To give us just enough light GFC To lay down underneath the stars D Listen to papa's translations GFC Of the stories across the sky D We drew our own constellations
G The west winds often last too long CG The wind may calm down nothing ever feels the same
Sheltered under the Kamani tree CG Waiting for the passing rain
Clouds keep moving to uncover the scene CG Stars above us chasing the day away
To find the stories that we sometimes need C Listen close enough Am6 All else fades fades away
GFC It was just another night D With a sunset GFC And a moonrise not so far behind D To give us just enough light GFC To lay down underneath the stars D Listen to papa's translations GFC Of the stories across the sky D We drew our own constellations
