The chord shapes take a little getting used to. Unfortunately there's no great video footage to
demonstrate, so I'll try to explain.
Normal E shape; move your middle finger to the 2nd fret E string
to play the F# note and mute the A string; use your index and middle for the Asus2 and use your ring
or pinky to fret the 4th stret E string for the G#. It's okay if you end up muting the A string
on the A/G# chord, it sounds pretty much the same either way.
Don't forget to tune a half-step down to play along with the record.

[Intro]
E E/F# Asus2 A/G# E E/F# Asus2 (x2)
[Verse]
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Well I'm staring at a blank page
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
And I don't like writing anymore
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
The self appointed martyr, he will die
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
before he knows what he's even dying for
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Well I'm drinking from my father's flask
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
And there's something burning on my lips
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
This shit tastes just like medicine
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
but I'll take it for what it is
C#m E Bsus4 Asus2
Well I've seen my future self in stranger's eyes
C#m E Bsus4
It's strange knowing how you will die
[Interlude]
E E/F# Asus2 A/G# E E/F# Asus2
[Verse]
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
I'm sick of the voices and headaches
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
of forced attempts at empty conversation radiate
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
A wallet hidden under a cross
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Similarities too forward and obvious to think much on
C#m Bsus4 Asus2
Something's pulling me in again
C#m Bsus4 Asus2
And I think I'm losing my mind
[Pre-Chorus]
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Something's swimming in my bloodstream
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Forcing back the words you said to me
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Something's swimming in my bloodstream
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Forcing back the words you said to me
[Interlude]
C#m E Bsus4 Asus2 C#m E Bsus4
[Verse]
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Now the doctor, yes, he had to notice
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
That she was all alone staring at her wedding ring
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
On the day that her son had to leave her womb
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
Like his father, he knew how he'd deal with things
C#m E Bsus4 Asus2
On the day he left her womb tears filled her eyes
C#m E Bsus4
Because her son refused to cry
[Chorus]
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
You're swimming in my blood stream
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
You're swimming in my blood stream
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
You're swimming in my blood stream
E E/F# Asus2 A/G# E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
You're swimming in my blood stream
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
I'm like you
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
I'm like you

I'm like you
E E/F# Asus2 A/G#
I'm like you
