This is my first guitar tab - I noticed there wasn't one
around for this song. I don't think I have the whole thing
exactly right - in the second verse, I think the progression
changes for a while, and then it goes back to the original.
I don't know the second progression though - a youtube video
by user Simon Smith (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9Brxw48oP0)
has some suggestions, but I couldn't get his version to work with
the lyrics. So please, if you can correct this - go ahead!
In the meantime, this is the version I use, and it actually works for the whole song.
P.S. There's a great cover of this song by this guy:

The Little Unsaid - he uses a capo on the 5th fret and does a lot of quick
finger picking, so I'm not exactly sure how he plays it, but it's great if
you are looking for an acoustic rendition.
Standard Tuning
Intro: Gm F Gm F Eb Dm x2
Now, the actual riff that you hear is based on those chords.
So when you see Gm, this is the riff that is being played:
Gm:
e--------------------------------
b---------------11-11--10--------
g-------------------------12-----
d--------------------------------
a--10---10-10-10-----------------
E--------------------------------
Then you switch to F:
e--------------------------------
b-------------10-10--8-----------
g----------------------10--------
d--------------------------------
a--8--8-8-8----------------------
E--------------------------------
Eb goes like this:
e--------------------------------
b-------------8-8--6-------------
g--------------------8-----------
d--------------------------------
a--6--6-6-6----------------------
E--------------------------------
And then you end with Dm:
e--------------------------------
b-------------6-6--5-------------
g--------------------7-----------
d--------------------------------
a--5--5-5-5----------------------
E--------------------------------
Verse 1:
Gm F
Look out of the window
Gm F

Eb Dm

Gm F
bad enough.
Gm F

Eb Dm

Gm F Gm F
Chorus:
Eb Dm Gm
Soon or laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaater
F Gm
Soon or laaaaaaaaater
F Eb
Soon or laaaaaaaaater
Dm Gm
And before your very eyes
F Gm
And before your very eyes
F Eb Dm
And before your very eyes
(here's where the chord progression changes, but I don't know how, I think this works too:
Verse 2 (version 1):
Gm F
Old soul on young shoulders
Gm F
How you'll look when you're older
Eb Dm
Time's fickle card game
Gm F
With you and I
Gm F
You have to take your chances
Eb Dm
The book of forgiveness
Gm F Gm F
Chorus:
Eb Dm Gm
Soon or laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaater
F Gm
Soon or laaaaaaaaater
F Eb
Soon or laaaaaaaaater
Dm Gm
And before your very eyes
F Gm
And before your very eyes
F Eb Dm
And before your very eyes (x2)
OK, so here's the way Verse 2 could be:
Verse 2 (version 2):
Eb Dm
Old soul on young shoulders
Eb Dm
How you'll look when you're older
Cm Dm
Time's fickle card game
Cm
With you and I
Eb Dm
You have to take your chances
Eb Dm
The book of forgiveness
