LIVIN' NEXT TO LEROY
ASHLEY McBRYDE

CAPO: NONE
I prefer to play this without a capo and using barre chords.
If you want you can use a capo and transpose the chords if it
Makes it easier to play the song.

INTRO:
F F# B

VERSE:
C# B F#
I used to roll my cigarettes on the hood of my Tacoma
C# B F#
Sit and watch the world go by
C# B F#
And I was seventeen and green and knowin' nothin' 'bout livin'
C# B F#
In a town where people go to die

VERSE:
C# B F#
Leroy was a transplant from somewhere in Alabama
C# B F#
The first time I met him, he asked me for a spoon
C# B F#
And I thought he must've been in a bluegrass band, or somethin'
C# B F#
But I'd find out one August afternoon

CHORUS:
C# B F#
Three doors down, there's tinfoil on the table
C# B F#
They ain't cookin' up nothin' good 'round here
C# B F#
There's one in every house: high on the couch, stealin' cable
C# B F#
On the dark side of the country it ain't bonfires, it ain't beer
D#m B B
But you find out quick how big a hit the neighbor's bike'll get ya, boy
C# B F# C# B F#
Livin' next to Leroy

VERSE:
C# B F#
In the classroom, Susie Highschool was passin' pills like notes
C# B F#
Takin' shots in the parkin' lot at lunch
C# B F#
And I'd join in every now and then 'cause you can't beat the cool crowd
C# B F#
I'd go to Leroy's 'til I sobered up

CHORUS:
C# B F#
Three doors down, there's tinfoil on the table
C# B F#
They ain't cookin' up nothin' good 'round here
C# B F#
There's one in every house: high on the couch, stealin' cable
C# B F#
On the dark side of the country it ain't bonfires, it ain't beer
D#m B
But you find out quick how big a hit that class ring'll get ya, boy
C# B F# C# B F#
Livin' next to Leroy

VERSE:

C# B F#
I rolled a J on the day I got my diploma
C# B F#
I knew Leroy would be proud
C# B F#
I can't forget shakin' him, tryin' to wake him on that sofa
C# B F#
He never did come 'round

INSTRUMENTAL/SOLO:
C# B F# C# B F#
C# B F# C# B F#
C# B F# C# B F#
C# B F# C# B F#

CHORUS:
C# B F#
Yeah, three doors down, there's tinfoil on the table
C# B F#
They ain't cookin' up nothin' good 'round here
C# B F#
There's one in every house: high on the couch, stealin' cable
C# B F#
On the dark side of the country it ain't bonfires, it ain't beer
D#m B
But you find out quick how high you get when that last hit gets ya, boy

OUTRO:
C# B F#
Livin' next to Leroy Yeah
C# B F#
Livin' next to Leroy Oooh yeah ooh
C# B F# C# B F#
Next to Leroy Yeah ah um

FADE OUT: (this can be omitted as it is so soft and quiet)
F# C# G# F# C# G#
