Adam Arcuragi

Part Of The Sky

by Adam Arcuragi
Adam Arcuragi

Biography:

It seems fitting that Adam Arcuragi grew up listening to his grandparents collection of old soul and gospel records, because according to NPR, he is 'a Philly soul with the old school power of Van Morrison'.

As an award winning poet and playwright, Adam’s songs spill over with compelling and poignant lyrics that garner continuous praise, or as All Music Guide states: “There is unbridled joy inherent in even the saddest of these songs, and unforgettable images in almost every verse”.

[Intro]

C Am D G F

[Verse 1]

C
The part of the sky with the sun
Am
Comes up as we will someday
D G F
I will eventually go, to bye
C
But please celebrate don't be sad
Am
Cause I will meet you there
D
And like the locust
G F
We can sing until we die

[Chorus]

C
Come, to the house
G
And at some point close your mouth
D Am
There is no one to turn you back if
F
You don't eat

[Verse 2]

C
The fluid in your skull
G
That's excited by the sound
D Am
All the words like tongues of flame
F
Upon the crowd
C
The empty of your mouth
G
Filling up as you who drowns,
D
Screams "don't worry the moon will
Am F
Swing the sea around."
C
They'll find him, that you're gone
G
With only the locusts singing songs
D
Breathing in and out
Am F
The music of their legs

[Chorus]

C G F
Come and see! come and seeee
C G F
No not this I think I've found it
C G F
Come and see! come and seee
C G F
Odalisque I think I've found it
C
The part of the sky with the sun
Am
Comes up as we will some day
D G
I will eventually go
F
To byeee
C
But please celebrate don't be sad
Am
'Cause I will meet you there
D G F
And like the locust, we can sing until we die

[Verse 3]

C
Leave, leave the house
G
While you spread upon your mouth
D Am F
The collection plates saved swiftly from the flames
C
With each coin as a faith
G
Or a player upon the race
D Am F
Just to try to take a peek behind the veil
C
Surprisin' how the trees
G
Have been talking quietly
D Am F
To each other this whole time beneath our feet
C
But like the dark outside
G
Cut by the bacteria lye
D Am F
We will all turn back to stars after we leave

[Chorus]

C G F
Come and see! come and seee
C G F
Oh no no not this I think I found it
C G F
Like elijah's burning eyes
C G F
As the sun begin to cry
C
Part of the sky with the song
Am
Comes up as we will someday
D G
I will eventually go
F
To bye
C
But please celebrate dont be sad
Am
'Cause I will meet you there
D G
We can sit slow and embrace life in for
F
What we realize
C
What we realize
