Alexander David Turner (born January 6, 1986) is the lead singer and guitarist for the bands Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets. He first met drummer Matt Helders at Stocksbridge High School. He has maintained a very private life, and shunned media publicity when declared the Coolest Man On The Planet by NME magazine in December 2005.
In August of 2007 he and The Rascals' member Miles Kane started recording an album for their new band The Last Shadow Puppets. It was released in the UK April 23 2008.
