John Prine (born October 10, 1946 in Maywood, Illinois-died April 7, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee) was an American country/folk singer-songwriter who has achieved widespread critical (and some commercial) success since the early 1970s.
The son of William Prine and Verna Hamm, his grandfather had played guitar with Merle Travis and he started playing guitar himself at 14 years old. He was a postman for 5 years and spent a couple of years in the army before starting his musical career in the Chicago area.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

DGD Time was once just a clock to me DGA And life was just a book a biography DGD Success was something you just had to be DGA And I would spend myself unknowingly
GAD And you know that I could have me a million more friends DA And all Id have to lose is my point of view DG But I had no idea what a good time would cost AD Till last night when I sat and talked with you.
DGD An apple will spoil if its been abused DGA A candle disappears when its been used DGD A rainbow may follow up a hurricane DGA And I cant leave forever on a train
GAD And you know that Id survive if I never spoke again DA And all Id have to lose is my vanity DG But I had no idea what a good time would cost AD Till last night when you sat and talked with me.
DGD You can smile for the lack of something else to do DGA And no one will laugh and point at you DGD If your tears didnt always make me feel so bad DGA Would you still cry every time that you felt sad?
GAD I thought Id heard and seen enough to get along DA Till you said something neither of us knew DG And I had no idea what a good time would cost ADAD Till last night when I sat and talked with you.
