SLEEP ALL DAY words & music by jason mraz [D] His after moan though cries [Dmaj7] oh no He's [Em] building up a shine but he [Em6] take it slow And he knows it [D] time to make a [Dmaj7] change here And [Em] time to get away [A] And he knows it's [D] time for all the wrong [Dmaj7] reasons And [Em] time to end the pain [A]
But he [D] sleep all, sleep all day, [Dmaj7] sleep all, we sleep all day [Em] over [Em6] Why don't we? [D] sleep all, sleep all day, [Dmaj7] sleep all, we sleep all day [Em] over [A]
She said [D] what would your mother think of all this [Dmaj7] how would your father react oh [Em] lord Would he take it all back what they've [A] done No way he said [D] take it, take it, he said [Dmaj7] make it with your [Em] own two hands [Em6] That was my old man and he said If [Em] all is grounded you should [G] go make a mountain out of [D] it [Dmaj7]
Oh [D] what a lovely day to have a [Dmaj7] slice of humble pie Oh, Re [Em] calling of the while we used to drive and [Em6] drive here and [D] there Going [Dmaj7] nowhere but [Em] for us, nowhere but for the [A] two of us and we knew it was [D] time to take a [Dmaj7] chance here and [Em] time to compromise our lives [Em6] just a little while and it was [D] time for all the wrong [Dmaj7] reasons but [Em] time is often on my side and I [Em6] give it to you tonight
and we [D] sleep all, sleep all day, [Dmaj7] sleep all, we sleep all day [Em] over [Em6] Why don't we? [D] sleep all, sleep all day, [Dmaj7] we sleep all, we sleep all day [Em] over and over, over and [Em6]over again
as [D] time goes by we get a little bit tired [Dmaj7] waking and baked another Marlboro mile [Em] wide [Em6] it's sending the [D] boys on the run in the time in hot summer [Dmaj7] sun to swim beneath or over [Em] outside as they're reading between the [Em6] lines then they re [D] member the part in the hallmark card where they [Dmaj7] read about the dreams and reaching for the [Em] stars to hold on a little bit [Em6] closer to and they say they knew it was [D] time, time to take, take love, [Dmaj7] time to take a chance here [Em] time to compromise, to occu [Em6] py the lies and it was [D] time for all the wrong [Dmaj7] reasons But oh [Em] time is often on my side and I [Em6] give it to you, oh boy
[D] sleep all, sleep all day, [Dmaj7] sleep all, we sleep all day [Em] over [Em6] Okay, so why don't we? [D] sleep all, sleep all day, [Dmaj7] sleep all, we sleep all day [Em] over [A] and over
She said [D] what would your mother think of [Dmaj7] all this, how would your father react oh [Em] lord Would he take it all back [Em6] what they've done No way he said [D] take it, take it, take it, he said [Dmaj7] make it, don't break it with your [Em] own two hands [Em6] That was my old man and he said if [Em] all is grounded you should [G] go make a mountain out of [D] it [Dmaj7]
